Building A Home Office Using A Garden Shed

With everyone getting used to working at home lately, space can get cramped. So what is the quickest and most economical method of adding a home office in the garden? The obvious advantage of having the office separate from the house is having privacy to work but also creating a separate workspace from family life so that the two don’t merge into one another.

The Shed Company offer a number of quick and cost effective garden sheds that can be easily converted into a warm and cosy home office

There are three options, our Steel sheds are the cheapest option and are supplied as standard with PVC double glazed windows and a composite steel door with quality locks and handles. The steel shed also has a timber floor included in the cost. These sheds can be delivered and installed from €1720, you would then need to budget for wiring, a heater, insulation, plastering and finishes, so expect to pay €5000 to complete the project. For more information on our steel shed range please visit here

The second option to consider for your home office is to use a Duraboard concrete building. These garden buildings are made to order according to your design and can be easily configured to suit your requirements such as internal dividing walls, additional doors etc. The Duraboard range of garden buildings are built in a traditional way, installing a concrete base then building the timber stud walls, Finally the concrete fibre board and PVC double glazed windows and doors are added. You will then need to add your heating, insulation and plastering, the same process as the steel sheds. The Duraboard range of home offices and garden buildings are available from a cost of €7,000 upwards depending on the size and design chosen etc. More information and photos of the Duraboard range are available here

The final option is tro select a full concrete buildings from out concrete range of garden sheds, office and garages. These concrete sheds are built using precast concrete panels bolted together and bolted to a concrete base. The panels can then be easily dry-lined and insulated on the inside to create a perfect working space in the garden, more photos and information on concrete buildings here
