04 Dec Timber Garden Shed Roof Options
If you are thinking of buying a new timber shed then you may be wondering what types of roof are available?
The Shed company can offer you three different roof types for the standard range.
Synthetic felt
Synthetic felt: This option comes as standard with our timber shed and is an updated version of the old mineral felt which was used to roof older timber sheds. The problem with the mineral felt, was that as it began to age, it would tear, and the result would be a leaky roof. The new synthetic felt is much improved whereby it has a certain amount of elasticity and is therefore much less likely to rip and tear over time. Meaning your shed and its contents will stay dry!
If, however, you are not keen on a felt roof and would prefer to upgrade the roof of the timber shed to either Onduline roofing or a Box profile Steel roof.
Onduline
Onduline: is an extremely tough, lightweight, corrugated roofing material manufactured utilising a base board produced from recycled cellulose fibres which is saturated with bitumen under intense pressure and heat.
Box profile Steel roof
Box profile Steel roof: Box profile steel cladding is a modern alternative to traditional 3″ corrugated (or wriggly tin) metal roofing sheets.
The good news is that both of these options are both available on most of the range of sheds at a small extra charge. The advantage is an even longer lasting roof for your timber shed!
